Prepare the photograph as its own attachment
ISP’s CCL checklist asks for a head-and-shoulders electronic photograph taken within the last 30 days. Keep that portrait separate from any other application attachments. This photo guide does not assess eligibility or replace ISP’s licensing instructions.
A Live Scan photo is not the CCL attachment
ISP’s FAQ says the photograph taken as part of the Live Scan process may not be used as the CCL photo submission. Prepare the separate portrait requested by the application, and check the live upload field for its file instructions.
Review the selected file before continuing
Merodim tip: when preparing several documents, open the exact file you selected and check the applicant and capture date. Keep a clearly named original so you can replace an unsuitable copy without starting from a compressed preview.
Problems and practical fixes.
Use the issue you can see to choose your next step.
- The Live Scan photograph is assumed to cover the upload
- Prepare a separate recent portrait for the application photo field; the fingerprint-service photo is a different record.
- An older FOID portrait is reused
- Check the age of the capture against the CCL checklist rather than assuming it remains suitable.
- A watermarked preview is uploaded
- Use the intended final file. The preview is for inspection and is not an application attachment.
Check the instructions for your application.
