Photo preparation
Choose the correct country, document and application route before ordering. The selected format determines the photo’s dimensions and the relevant preparation instructions. Some documents require a professional photographer or an approved submission service that an ordinary image file cannot replace.
Preview and final photo
Watermarked previews are provided so you can review the framing before purchase. They are not intended for official submission. Retain your original photograph and check your final image against the instructions for the application you are making.
Acceptance and official guidance
The issuing authority decides whether a photograph is acceptable. Merodim is an independent service and is not affiliated with a government agency. Read the linked official requirements, including any application-specific instructions, before submitting.
Background editing and free recreation
Background replacement is an optional digital edit. Some authorities restrict or prohibit it. The US Department of State requires an original, unedited passport photo, so a digitally replaced background does not follow its published requirements. Passing an upload check does not guarantee final acceptance. We recommend taking your original against the background specified for your document. You can compare the edited copy with your original before ordering. If an edited photo is not accepted, you can recreate your digital photo at no extra charge using a new, suitable original with its background preserved. This recreation covers the digital photo; new prints and delivery are separate. The receiving authority makes the acceptance decision.
Your images
Upload only photographs you are entitled to use. Do not upload unrelated sensitive documents. The person in the photo must be accurately represented; do not use generated portraits or images that alter their identity for an official application.
Order support
If you have a problem with your photo, contact Merodim with your order reference and a description of the issue. Keep sensitive identity and payment information out of support messages.
